How to choose LED display screens?

Here is our recommendation:
  1. Indoor or Outdoor? Not all LED displays are the same. Specialized models are available for indoor and outdoor installation.
  2. HOW BRIGHT? The brightness of LED display directly affects its visibility.
  3. WORK OUT THE VIEWING DISTANCE. LED displays are used in very different locations from standard TVs. Typically, people view them from much further away – and the further they are from the display, the smaller the image will appear.
  4. How large? Once you know the minimum viewing distance, you can consider how large your LED display needs to be.
  5. Know your pixel pitches. ‘Resolution’ refers to the number of dots, or pixels, that are used to generate the image on the LED screen. For LED displays, resolution is usually expressed in the form of ‘pixel pitch’, which is the distance between individual pixels on the screen, measured in millimeters. The lower the pixel pitch, the higher the resolution and the sharper the picture.
  6. Understand real and virtual pixels. Virtual pixels are used to increase the effective resolution of an LED display. In theory, the resolution of a virtual-pixel screen is four times that of a normal one, even though the pixel pitch is the same.
  7. Match resolution with viewing distance. Resolution and viewing distance are closely related. If the resolution is too low, the image will appear blurry. However, there’s no point paying for resolution you don’t need. Generally, the greater the viewing distance, the lower the resolution you can get away with.
  8. Check the durability. LED displays for outdoor use can take a pounding from wind, rain and dust, which can have a big impact on their lifespan. Look for screens that have IP ratings with higher numbers.
  9. Consider ease of use. The most powerful LED display is useless if you don’t know how to unlock its features. Ease of use isn’t just about your convenience – it’s about making sure you get the results you need from your LED display at the time when you need them.
  10. Get help with specifying.
    As you can see, there are many factors to take into account when choosing LED display, and they all affect each other. For newcomers to the market, it can be tough to integrate them all and make the right choice. So it pays to choose a provider who can offer expert technical help with your buying decision, and not just leave you to make your own selection from their catalog.
